Restaurant Week is where during the off peak or slow season for restaurants, prix fixe meals are offered for around $20 for lunch and $35 for dinner.
The prix fixe meals always consist of at least 3 courses if not more, an appetizer, entree, and dessert.
It is held twice a year. Once in August and once in January.
Why I call it Restaurant Month is because different cities/areas always hold their own Restaurant Week on different dates.
This is a prime opportunity to try expensive restaurants you would never go to for an affordable meal.
- Be smart and do a little research and it'll go a long way. Often times some restaurants are not worth it during Restaurant Week. Some actually take advantage and are a complete rip off. Check their regular menu. Many places offer prixe fixed meals or some sort of deal all the time.
- If it's possible to do lunch, do it. It's the most bang for your buck.
- Check out the Restaurant Week menu beforehand. Often times the menu is available online. (I once shamelessly called Ruth's Chris to read me their lunch and dinner menu to see which one was the better offer.)
Fun Fact: Ruth's Chris lunch (if it's available) and Dinner menu are exactly the same!
Restaurants I recommend:
- Fogo de Chao
- Ruth's Chris
- Co Co Sala
